Aldo Toriello, partner and founder A graduate of Genoa University with final paper on law of international trade and carriage of oil, he founded the practice in 1961 having also been trained in London under a leading barrister, lately LJ. Gradwell (Metropolitan Judge in the Ward/Profumo case). He has represented and continues to represent Italian and foreign shipping and/or insurance companies (hull/cargo), including companies from the UK, the USA, Germany, France, Spain, Greece and Turkey. He is often instructed to act for P&I Clubs. He is admitted to the Italian Supreme Court bar. A member of the British-Italian Law Association, and a member of the Italian Association of Maritime Law. Member of Credimpex-Italy. Professor of private law at the University of Sassari, and professor of comparative law and legal English at the Genoa Law School. He is author of one volume on aliens’ legal position in EU and comparative law; one volume on EU law integration through the ECJ case-law; general editor of two volumes on international contracts and product liability and about sixty articles on various topics on international commercial law, EU law and shipping law. (maritime law). Author of commentaries on insurance contract law (Italian civil code- commentary, IPSOA, 2004). Member of Milan Bar Association. Area of practice: maritime & transport law, civil law, international trade law, insurance law. Assistant at the legal English course at the Law School of Genoa, teacher at various masters focusing on commercial and transport law at the University of Genoa and Milan-SDA Bocconi; teacher at several courses at the Freight Forwarding Association in Milan and the Chamber of Commerce of Trieste. Legal advisor and Mediator for the Regional control committee on telecommunications (Co.re.com. Liguria). Legal practitioner at the European Patent Office- EPO. Liguria). Teacher at several courses on logistic and transport law at the Freight Forwarding Association in Milan and the Chamber of Commerce of Trieste.
